Character death - SPOILER for ALL Clint films

Hi
this has been driving me nuts for ages.
in the IMDB trivia for The Beguiled it says Clint Eastwood's character only dies in two of his films. The Beguiled is one - so what's the other?

Honkytonk Man

Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left, you'll find my favorite axe.

Thanks very much :)

Actually, he dies in High Plains drifter too when Stacey and his men beat/whip Marshall Duncan to death. He is a ghost in Pale Rider, so you could say 4 movies, although he is already dead at the beginning of Pale Rider.

good call. He also dies offscreen again, in The Outlaw Josey Wales. You can assume he's going to bleed to death and this is of course a direct reference to Shane.

I choose to belive Josey Wales lived! :)

I've just seen Gran Torino and it only struck me afterwards that it was unusual to see Clint dying in a movie. I had to come and look it up!

I guess that makes three unequivocal ones now.

reply

I haven't seen Pale Rider in a while and don't remember him being a ghost. Remind me how this is shown in the movie.

He's a ghost in High Plains Drifter too. In the beggining appears like a ghost and dissapears as a ghost in the end.

Also Robert Kincaid is dead in The Bridges of Madison County

Since I was born I started to decay

reply

Well, in Escape From Alcatraz, you never find out for sure but I always believed that he died.
