visually very interesting -
I know it's ridiculous to look for artistry in Woody Allen's "bananas", of all things, but his visual style - flashy, confident, assured of the dramatic artist waiting to be born - it's all there...Woody could have shot ths film 'straight', but he really proves himself to be a master of camera angles and use of editorial syntax.
While I think 'bananas' is one of the most absolutely dumb movies I've ever seen, I think PT Anderson must have gained some inspiration from the film when he made his art-house slapstick "Punch-Drunk Love". It's just that interesting to look at.
