Blood pH (spoilers if you still haven't seen it after 45 years)

I'm not sure why I never bothered to actually check before, but I found a chart of blood pH for rhesus monkeys:

According to those results, the range of pH values means that the monkeys they used for testing in the movie, probably wouldn't/shouldn't have been killed by Andromeda. Only the 7.42 is within the range of Andromeda growth as shown on the "Chart" near the end of the movie. The others are past the range where Andromeda grows.

Oh well. Maybe they got a "bad" batch of monkeys for testing. Or just unlucky ones.

(Mice also seem to have a "normal" pH range outside of Andromeda's growth range, but on the other side of the range from monkeys. Although I couldn't find anything specific for the one type they specifically mentioned. So maybe the test mice they used wouldn't/shouldn't have died either.)
