I think the 9897000x is the magnification or size of andromeda and the 601 was explained in the movie as computer overload

and its a comma , not a 7. the comma looked like a little 7 (old school digital #'s)

Hmmm. 601 = computer overload

601 x 2 = 1202

1202 (and 1201) = Apollo Guidance Computer overload codes as Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969, two years before this movie was made.
