Another great '70s caper

I saw it as a kid and I still like the premise. Even though there are no good guys to root for I still dig this flick. Connery is great as is Martin Balsam. And look for a young Christopher Walken (The Kid) as the driver.

Yep, and the door man's un-PC and insulting description of Balsam's character as "chunky..........fag" is hilarious!

Thanks for sharing that. I recall the Irving Trust. Who else remembers Banco De Popular or The Bowery (da bowery) and their incessant TV commercials? "The Bowery, the Bowery, the Bowery saves you lots...." LOL

I remember both funny I have seen an ad for "Popular" in a while guee they went out of business or have a new name. The Bowery on the other hand I'm sure was a victim of the BUSH family's Savings & Loan scandal.

There's a 'Banco Popular', here in Houston.TX.

I concur. This film was a lot of fun. Sean Connery was typically excellent in the lead, Dyan Cannon was smoking hot as his classy call girl mistress, and Martin Balsam was a complete camp hoot as merry gay antique dealer Haskins. Plus it was cool to see a very young Christopher Walken in a sizable supporting role as the Kid. And the big heist itself was extremely tense, gripping and exciting, with a spot-on bitterly ironic pay-off for Connery and his crew.
