Val Avery played Socks?
I would have lost a bet, I swear it was Fish, Abe Vigoda.

I still laugh when the brothers called him Socks.

Nope, it was definitely Val Avery. Remember his racist line about him being scared of "the spooks"? Hilarious as it showed how silly racism is.

I also really liked him in Firehouse. He just LOOKED like a fireman in the 70's.
I also recall him in one or two Law & Order episodes

Just saw him in a Kojak rerun last night...he was some mob tuff guy.

He done a lot of work over the years mostly in small parts. I have about 5 films
in which he has either a small part or just cameo
