I swear I recall a version of Dr Phibes where he rigged up a cicada to a platinum wire to wake him up in 17 years. Or was that some other horror film. This would have been about 1971. Please help my memory.

That's probably Dr. Phibes Rises Again, the sequel.

Thank you for the suggestion. I watched the sequel and the scene I am describing was not in the version I had. Was there an alternate cut? Help! This has been bothering me for decades, now. Don't think I can...hold...out...much...longer...aggghhhhhhh...
