You are referring to the little known 3D classic Dr. Tongue's House of Pancakes.

I think you're thinking of "The Pit and the Pendulum."

Don't know the movie --It could be a lot of different ones-- but it sounds like you're describing an Iron Maiden. It's a torture device used to kill people in Midevial times.

reply

It actually sounds like you're talking about the dreadful Vincent Price movie "The Masque of the Red Death." (Price wasn't dreadful, but the movie definitely was.)

It's supposed to be adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's short story, but has very little in common with its source. I remember a scene like the one you've described; it had something to do with a Satan-worshipping element in the film that is nowhere to be found in Poe's story.

I hope this helps!

There is no Iron Maiden in "The Masque of the Red Death", which could be the best film ever made by AIP and one of Vincent Price's best performances.

There is one in "Pit and the Pendulum". Barbara Steele experiences it.

very definitely thinking of the iron maiden from Pit and the Pendulum, and the movie's last shot, a close up on Barbara's eyes as she is staring out from inside, unable to make a sound, and the two survivors of the story commenting that no one will ever come in the room again, clearly her hearing this and in pain knowing she will not be rescued
