Problems with Midnite Double Feature DVD.

Namely I can't view it. My DVD player turns off when I attempt to play either side of the DVD, and I've tried playing it on two computers to no avail. Anyone else have this problem?

I am having the same problem! It shows the MGM lion and at about 11 seconds after that the disc just stops, won't even get to the menu. You can't forward or reverse, and then you can't even eject the disc, you have to turn off the player and restart to get the disc out. I have taken the disc back twice, and the same problem everytime. Best Buy will only exchange, not refund. It was only $10 bucks, but $10 bucks is $10 bucks and I really want to see these movies!!! Any ideas???

I would notify MGM Home Video through their website about the problem. I had this same issue with the release of the single movie on it's own and it works now on my progressive scan player that's attach to an HDTV system. This single movie version has been discontinued but the double feature is still available, so I would definetly contact them about the problem.

No problems here. Does it help if you press the menu button on your remote?

I also have that problem. Both sides of the disk work on my regular DVD player, but both sides will not work on my portable player. It's like it only works on certain DVD players.

I have no problem in my "normal" DVD player but a couple of the DVD viewing software programs on my computer have a problem. I think it has something to do with the structure of the root menu. The computer will only play the MGM lion and then reset. I can see all the chapter listings but am unable to play them.

Windows Media Player was hopeless (when isn't it)
The open source VLC Player works great although screen captures are awful. This could just be a bug.

I also have the Ulead DVD Player and it works great. It is available for $29 US I believe. http://www.ulead.com/dp/runme.htm I actually tried the demo first because the Nero software that came with my DVD burner would not give me sound no matter what I tried. Same with Win Media Player. I installed the Ulead demo and it worked perfectly. Later, I discovered the VLC player but had already paid for the Ulead product. No matter. At least it works.

I bought both Phibes films when they were first released (singularly) on disc -- think I paid about $20 each for them -- and was never able to watch them. My player froze on the MGM logo and I'd have to unplug it to get the damned discs out. Never had a problem with another MGM disc except those two. I recently got a new player that will play the discs, but I feel rather cheated that they've undergone an enormous price reduction and were subsequently packaged together...

Mine showed Phribhce saying "Helloooo... You have been choosen to plaaay a gaaaaaame..." but then it blows up the player entrails with blood splash'n'spray and all...

Same problem here. The viewing of the full movie, which lasts about 90 minutes, took me over 2 hours, as the disc would freeze inmediately before the MGM lion appear. Then, occasionally, I would make to the menu, and it would freeze all over again; then to the opening credits, and so on... It was really hard to finish the viewing, and I'm afraid these annoying technical issues affected negatively my perception of the movie.

does cleaning the disc help? sometimes people put their fingerprints over the flipper disks (and yes, regular discs too.)

I had that problem with a used set of Buffy The Vmpire Slyer. cleaned the discs and they worked fine.
