do I go to miami for the best four flies dvd quality?

"Yeah, they're dead, they're all messed up."

Has anyone bought "Four Flies On Grey Velvet" from Video Search Of Miami?
I read somewhere that thier dvd-r is the best possible way to watch this film.
I want to get ahold of this film, but I want to hear about the picture quality before anything. I own two copies of this film on vhs, both are varying degrees of terrible.

Really? Thanks for the tip, man. I read about this standard-frame transfer
that was going around that was a little better in the picture quality department. Tim Lucas had mentioned it in his video watchblog some time back, saying that it had come from video search of miami. Hey, well thanks for the answer to my query. No one had answered for a while, I thought I was all alone out here.

Tim Lucas did mention this great looking VHS version, which contained at least one of the scenes present in the Italian version (the first flashback before the murder in the park), with 2.35:1 credits, but everything else in 4:3.
Here it is:

I guess they've upgraded their copy. I wonder if they still have it...

Could you please tell me more about it? I've seen three different versions so far:

An Italian version taped from TV in 1990, in 1.85:1, which includes two additional scenes not available in most international versions (the first padded cell flashback and an extended killer's monologue at the end). The sound is poor, with the music suffering from distortion at times, but the colors look pretty good, close to the original values, I suspect. Unfortunately the image quality is marred by intermittent horizontal lines due to a bad signal;

A French version, from a VHS, also in 1.85:1 (sometimes stretched to 2.35:1), with a very soft and overly bright image, bad colors, and audio in either English or Italian (in the Italian case it goes out of sync in the end with the extended monologue, corrected only when God enters the room), also very poor. The murders are cut, and in some cases these scenes are replaced by a different 4:3 print in equally bad shape;

An English version, at least with the beginning and end credits in English - supposedly the American one - in the original 2.35:1, pretty much uncut, save for the Hallelujah in the God introduction and the extra scenes in the Italian version. The sound and image quality are very poor, very dark and almost in black & white, with the dark scenes simply unwatchable. I imagine this is the version VSoM now have, according to Kentucky_Bootleg_Lives.

So, is it one of these? If not, how does it look and sound? What's the source, aspect ratio, cut status, language, subtitles, etc...?
Thanks in advance
