The baby when Evans comes home?

After Beryl's murder by Christie and Tim comes home, the baby Geraldine had been unfed, uncuddled and unchanged for hours?

I'm a dad and know that babies have a habit of actually needing food, love (from mum who she sees for hours each daytime) and a clean bum?

But what does Tim do? Picks up the distressed baby for a few minutes, who oddly falls asleep in his arms, then pops her back in the cot and shuts the door to a dark room?????

Actually times were different, I guess, Dads weren't that involved and Christie keeps mentioning to Tim to make some food for Baby Geraldine. I thought the baby scenes were odd anyway, as either she cried a lot or was instantly quiet.
