If Evans had been sentenced to life instead of hanging

Would he have been released from prison when the evil truth about Christie emerged?

More than likely, although it took 13 more years for Evans to be posthumously pardoned.

The authorities eventually decided that it was doubtful beyond reason that two murderers operated independently in the same house, although there has always been speculation about Evans' true involvement in the deaths of his wife and child.

Make tea, not war.

Uh, Great Britain abolished the death penalty in 1965.

reply

Largely because of this case.
