Good cast, but I think this is pointless. The film version can't be improved upon.

The only way the film could be improved upon is by taking advantage of the nearly double running time and going into:

[a] more detail of the trial and the flawed case against Evans, e.g. the issue of the dates of repairs to the wash-house and floorboards, and how the dates of Evans' departure and the position of the old floorboards in the wash-house.

[b] Christie's background and upbringing. One criticism of the film is that the viewer is plonked in Rillington Place and its foul goings on, without any indication of how we arrived there. Christie just appears fully formed as a killer.

Nico Mirallegro (Evans) is half Sicilian - it would be ideal if his father was an Italian count...

To be serious, how tall is he? Evans was under 5 feet 6 inches, whereas in the film Hurt was taller than Attenborough which wasn't quite right...
