Just started to watch from the beginning
Three episodes in, and it's fantastic. I can remember all the acclaim this got when I was a kid, and too young to appreciate it. While I enjoyed Downton Abbey, so far this has felt much more literary. (It's dated, of course, but the dialogue's so good that that really hasn't bothered me at all.)
I was also interested to read that Jean Marsh, one of the co-creators who also plays the character Rose played several different characters in early Doctor Who, including Sara Kingdom. Unfortunately, most of those are in the missing episodes category. She was also married to Jon Pertwee, the third Doctor (before he played the third Doctor.)
