I don't like it. "Masterpiece Theatre" was just fine. Why can't they leave well enough alone?
I hope there are enough protests to change it back, just as the protests for the revamping of the theme music to "The Young and the Restless" got it changed back!
I don't understand it either. I really liked the opening regal theme music for Masterpiece Theatre. It made it feel like you were going to watch something special.

i was told (don't know if it's true) that they dropped the "theatre" from the title because it was off-putting to potential new viewers who would shy away because of that evil word. whoever would not watch it because of the word "theatre" in the title is not someone who would appreciate what this program has to offer in the 1st place- practically philistines.
