This series was poorly researched on IMDb...

I certainly think so. Many of the episodes are missing most of the character's names. Not much help.

An excellent example: For the episode titled "Bobby Loved Me" (1974), the character of Lou Hayes is supposedly played by John Piper. In reality, he is played by actor Jon Cypher (Hill Street Blues). Huge, stupid error. I could report it, but they'll just ignore it like others I have reported.

reply

ya no kidding.

Ive given up reporting ANYTHING to these incompetent doofusses.

i.e. elle macphearson the model did NOT run a mile in 4 minutes whatever.
I challenged imdb to force the claimant to provide some proof, it went nowhere.
but out of 'deference' to the cute celebrity, the entry remains.

like most anything on the web, you cant believe everything you read.

"google it if you dont think so ...."

IMDb is a nice website for browsing, but like wikipedia where people post their own material, errors happen, and errors often don't get corrected.

I wasn't a fan of this series at all because I had trouble making reality fit the series... i.e. I just couldn't take it when the fat man would karate chop some bad guy and be in control moments later. but i was curious when the actor died.

reply

The karate chop was devastating!

reply

Especially to the bad guy :)

The character of Cannon really threw his weight around. This series fit in perfectly with the fad at the time of having crime fighters with handicaps. First there was "Ironside", a police chief in a wheelchair. Then came "Longstreet", a blind insurance investigator, followed by "Cannon", an obese P.I. "Barnaby Jones" was a very old P.I., and "Murder, She Wrote", a serial killer who murdered wherever she traveled and pinned the blame on someone else.

The info on IMDb is user-generated, and as such is only as accurate as the users make it. Cannon didn't make things easy, because the character names often are not listed in the credits.

I've had no problem entering or correcting info.

There is a time-delay between entering info and having it appear on the site.
