Cannon is edgy!
I watched Cannon as a boy with my dad. I thought it was about a big guy with a big voice in a big car.
Home two days with a cold, I rediscovered Cannon on MeTV. In both episodes, from 1971, Cannon was deceived and endangered by his clients. He was angry and wittily sarcastic. The shows were edgy and fast-paced. In comparison I find Rockford and Magnum tedious and convoluted.
On Monday, Cannon prevented the release of stolen nerve gas. On Tuesday, Cannon's next client left him to die. When told that the client embezzled $200,000 from fellow Cuban patriots, Cannon said, "With the wisdom of hindsight, that doesn't surprise me."
