DVD release

Come on Warner's! This would be a great opportunity with all the hype surrounding 10.000 B.C.!!!

reply

A shame the hype around that movie is dying down because the movie sucks so bad (I really wanted to like it, but it was damn crappy!!).

However, I have seen a lot of comparisons with One Million Years BC in magazines and sites and stuff, in which OMYBC is stated to be much better than 10,000 BC (which is of course entirely true). Maybe Warners are smart enough to see the link to WDRTE here...

Features should include a trailer, TV-spots, an interview with Jim Danforth and a commentary by Jim Danforth.

reply

And the missing scenes of course, preferably uncut in the movie itself. :)

reply

Still no word? This is *beep* unbelievable!!!!

reply

Come on, this is getting tedious. Anybody have any contact details for Warner Bros.?

reply

No, but they should bloody well hurry up all the same!

reply

Come on!!! We want this dvd now!!!

reply

Yeah!

DVD release July 29 2008 as a double feature with MOON TWO ZERO - Best Buy Exclusive...

reply

Good theory, but any extras? Uncut? Doubt it.

Go to Criterion and ask them to work on Satyajit Ray films, a good Kwaidan rerelease.

reply

Great news but the problem i have is that it's a best buy exclusive and they don't ship to the u.k. Thwarted again-come on Warner's, how about letting other companies sell, or how about a region 2 release?

reply

I've long said Warner Bros. should pair this and MOON ZERO TWO as a Hammer sci-fi DVD double feature. Since they gave us the longer European cut of TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA when it came to DVD, I'd like to think they'll do the same for WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH.

reply

Rumor has it that the print is the uncut version.

reply

As you probably know by now, WDRTE is in fact paired with MOON ZERO TWO. Unfortunately, someone freaked out about the nudity and some Best Buy stores have pulled the discs, claiming they are "defective." If your local Best Buy has one, you probably want to buy it now.

Best Buy's web site still shows it, but it's "backordered." Helpful hint: search using "Sci-Fi 70s" rather than the film title.

We will probably be seeing these on eBay at stratospheric prices for a while.

We report, you decide; but we decide what to report.

reply

Really?! Aw, that sucks! Now I'll never get it!

The uncut version is now available through Asian Cult Cinema with approx. 19 minutes of new footage.

It is posted on Piratebay as uncompressed Dvd files, with artwork.

This post has not been deleted.
