Does anyone know the military tune playing before the battle when the French troops are marching past Napoleon while he's trying to take a nap? I know "La Victoire est a Nous" is the song when the French advance. I own a cd of Napoleonic music with the latter on it but not the mystery march. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean where Napoleon sits under a tree with his staff around him, and he is hiding his face in his hands? And the whole army passing by, marching up on the battlefield? If that is the case, I believe the tune is from the main theme in Beethoven's 7th symphony, first movement (which starts about 4 min.). As far as I know, Beethoven sometime used melodies from the French Revolution in his symphonies. If the march in the film is based on Beethoven, or directly from the revolutionary tune, I cannot say. Hopefully, it gave some light on the matter.
