Did this inspire the ISLAND?

I just watched the trailer but that was enough for this movie to scream "The Island". It much have inspired them a bit. The plot line is different but SO many similarities.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw THE ISLAND. The first half anyway. That's probably why I hated The Island so much, because I was expecting too much.

The storyline of The Island matches "Logan's Run" more closely. Though the white suits and isolation were probably largely inspired by THX 1138.

Nah watching this films last night clearly The Island were influenced by this movie heavily. Except The Island was more like an alternative reality to THX, The main character gets the girl, and where THX ends with duvall escaping, ISLAND continues where THX left off and heads down to the outside world.

Never seen Logans Run but The Island made me think of Logan's Run when I saw it the first time aswell. Weird.

The Island with Ewan McGregor? That movie was a rip off of The Clonus Horror.
