This is one of my absolute favorites, but I just noticed something while watching last night. The King from the Kringle's history book looks EXACTLY the same as the father of the house that was searched by the soldiers. Anyone else notice this?

Yes. We watched it last night and I noticed that for the first time. Don't know how many times I've seen it.

The doctor who treats the Burgermeister looks like him as well. I always figured there was a subplot regarding the King that did not pan out.

Or it was cheaper to reuse that same figure.

It's actually a charicature of producer/director Jules Bass, and they used the same puppet for the doctor who diagnoses the Burgermeister with a broken funny bone too.

What about the kid who comes up and pokes the Burgermeister with a duck? We just noticed it yesterday after 40 years of watching.
