The DVD release(s)

It wasn't until this year I found out that much more was cut from the TV airings than I thought. I decided that next year I'm going to buy all the Christmas classics on DVD (either the box sets or the individual DVDs), and I had a few questions:

1. Do any of the DVDs (either the single disc releases or those included in the multi-disc box set) contain the cut version of the special? Just so I know what to avoid
2. All of the DVDs released have the same (or very similar) covers. Which one would be the best to get? I was thinking about getting the one with the Mariah Carey CD Single.
3. Which is the best overall to get? I'm talking like, which one is uncut, which one has the best bonus features, and even more importantly, which was restored and uncut?

If anyone could help or shed some light on any or all of my questions would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that all of the Rankin-Bass specials have been released on DVD uncut. Rudolph to me looks to be in the best shape and has alternate songs included. Little Drummer Boy is the worst - something is clearly wrong with the original source negative, as it is scratchy and fuzzy and grainy.

Not to mention there are bits of the musical track missing from LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, and a line originally done by Greer Garson is redubbed by Paul Frees.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN is uncut, except for the early substitution of "Topper" for "Waddles" as the penguin's name.
