When the girl is calling out the names of the reindeer, why does she call Donner and Blitzen "Donder and Blitzter?"

It's done as a comic effect. This is how a child might mispronounce it.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

Actually, "Donder" was the reindeer's original name, but the spelling changed over the years to "Donner," which is German for "Thunder."

Donder/Donner means thunder. One spelling is German, the other Netherlandish, I don't remember which is which.

In the poem, "A visit from St. Nicholas" more commonly known as "T'was the night before Christmas" the reindeer is called "Donder".

In the song, Rudolf the Red-nose Reindeer, Gene Autry changed it to Donner because it was easier to sing. Go ahead and try it with "Donder."
