I specifically remember watching as a kid them mentioning the Lord Jesus Christ during the scene where they are married, however upon watching the ABC edition Jesus is not mentioned. I know they say it is the holiest day of the year But i thought for sure they mentioned Christ by name. Am I imaging it or was Jesus never mentioned by name in the original. Someone please help.

Ok after watching this again I have my answer. While they are getting married exchanging gifts under the tree, the narrator is singing and in the lyrics of the song he sings about the 3 wisemen giving gifts to a newborn baby. So while Jesus isnt mentioned by name, he is mentioned subtly.

shareJust watched it on ABC & they cut the second half of the song "What better way to tell you." It mentions giving gifts on Christmas like those brought long ago "for the new born baby." Can't mention Jesus on Christmas on network television these days...sad, it's always been my favorite song in the show.

Yes I just watched the DVD and caught that line. Kluger says "since no church would have them, they got married in the silent forest with only the Lord with them" or something.
