John Carpenter Connection

Here's an (hopefully) interesting observation:
John Carpenter, starting with "Assault On Precinct 13", has continually remade "Rio Bravo" (The Fog, The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China, Prince Of Darkness, Ghosts Of Mars). Meanwhile, John Wayne remade Rio Bravo himself, with El Dorado, first, and then Rio Lobo. The connection?

This was the film debut of Peter Jason, who would go on to be a regular in John Carpenter's stable of actors, and appeared in many of the films I listed above. Of course, he's also a regular in Walter Hill's movies, many of which are great westerns!

If we all liked the same movie, there'd only be one movie!

I don't see it. Your observation about Carpenter is a stretch.
