I've read in a couple of places that Mick and Anita's most explicit (and real-life) sex scenes were cut from Performance and took home an award from a European "blue movie" festival. Has anyone else heard this? I would love to get my hands on them.

Producer Sandy Lieberson was responsible for taking the extra footage to Amsterdam, where it was shown in the 1970 Wet Dream film festival as 'Performance Trims' or 'Performance Rehearsals.' Stills from this were printed in Oz, Peter Webb's book 'Erotic Art' and in a very expensive book of the festival itself. Lieberson still holds the footage but isn't showing it to anyone (I asked).

When I was a young wanker, I remember "reading" a stroke mag -- for some reason I think it was 'OUI' -- and there was a still from this movie of Mick & Anita nude. Mick's stick was flaccid (we'll take it, right??), and he had a really nice, thick bush. Anita was topless, & she was reclining (they both were), so she looked flat-chested (but we'll take it, right??). Unfortunately, it was a very "artsy" photo: mick & anita looked like they were traced in black ink, and their skin-tone was a lavender color, as was the rest of the photo. Still, it was life-like enough for me to "enjoy" dozens of times. I remember "enjoying" it while playing Under My Thumb.
