Performance vs Don't Look Now
In a recent poll by Time Out magazine, Nic Roeg's 'Don't Look Now' topped the list of the 100 Greatest British Films. However, does anyone else agree that his collaboration with Donald Cammell on 'Performance' is actually the better of the two films?
I feel the quality of the film has often been disregarded, and focus placed primarily on the troubled production and controversy surrounding the content after its initial release. Yet the combination of both the films unique content and the technical elements involved in capturing Jagger and Fox 'achieving madness' is, in my opinion, worthy of as much praise as any of Roeg's other work.
