Number of Oscars (6, 7 or 8?)

The DVD cover (which replaces the movie poster) states Patton took eight Oscars while imdb reports only seven and another three nominations. Which information is accurate?
Also, it is stated that George Scott refused the award. Is it still counted?

Says this on Wiki- it won 7 Oscars and there were another 3 nominations. Here's the pertinent section:

Scott's performance won him an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1971. He famously refused to accept it, citing a dislike of the voting and even the actual concept of acting competitions.[22] He was the first actor to do so.

The film won six additional Academy Awards, for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Sound (Douglas Williams, Don Bassman), and Best Art Direction (Urie McCleary, Gil Parrondo, Antonio Mateos, Pierre-Louis Thévenet).[23] The Best Picture Oscar is on display at the George C. Marshall Museum at the Virginia Military Institute, courtesy of Frank McCarthy.

It was nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Music, Original Score.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

The movie won 7 Oscars.

Some DVD covers show the movie as having won 8 (like the german DVD I own). The reason of this mistake is usually that with movies which won the Best Art Direction-Set Decoration Oscar, in more than one occasion that category is mistaken as being 2 different categories: one Art Direction and another one Set Decoration. The "2 awards in 1" seems to confuse some distributors.

Another example of this same mistake: "Shakespeare in Love" which some DVDs and/or movie magazines show as having won 8 Oscars. Like "Patton", "Shakespeare in Love" also won the Best Art Direction/Set Decoration category among its 7 awards.

Never heard or read of "Patton" having just won 6 Oscars, but I can imagine it comes from George C. Scott rejecting his Best Actor award that year, thus making the movie a 'de facto' winner of 6 awards.
