The person(s) responsible for making subtitles for Patton have played a prank. The person(s) responsible have simply made up subtitles - disgusting/despicable/outrageous in my opinion - that are simply not said in the film. Example:(time, circa 1:01:40 Sicily landing)"Here`s the gangster Patton, landing at Gela with his Seventh Army", when the German soldiers in German are told:"Hier landet Patton mit seiner Siebten Armée am Strand von Gela."Example:(time, circa 00:46:36 Patton´s first battle in North Africa with Rommel´s tank army)A soldier (Jenson) says he cannot "reach" General Bradley on the phone;in the English subtitle it says "raise" instead of reach! I believe a magnifying glass should be used to remove these disgusting, inapprobiate, freely made up expressions in the subtitles that are obviously a prank played by the subtitler of the film. All the languages that this film has been subtitled in should be "debugged" before any new batch of Dvds/blu-rays is sent on the market by 20th Century Fox. This is simply disgraceful!

Don't confuse the English subtitles for the Germans' dialogue, which were taken from the original film, with the Closed Captioning added to the video version.

I clearly remember the subtitle of "the gangster Patton" from the original celluloid release. Maybe there is a legitimate a beef with the subtitlers of the original movie print, but not with the Closed Caption writers.

Jenson actually says "I can't raise him!" I just replayed the scene on my BluRay to doublecheck it. I believe a hearing aid should be used to remove these disgusting, inappropriate, freely made up alleged "errors" in the subtitles that are obviously a prank played by the OP.

Personally, the only complaint I have with the Closed Captioning is that in identifying the music played by the bands in the various scenes, they were able to correctly identify the Sousa marches Washington Post and Stars and Stripes Forever, but failed to identify the classic bagpipe march played by Montgomery's begpipers as Scotland the Brave. But that's a minor nitpick, not a dealbreaker.
