New Yorkers really appreciate this
I remember the strikes and pretty much everything else addressed in the movie. The evocation of NY of the 60s and was spot on. Love this movie which I can watch repeatedly.

shareWell, I'm glad you liked it; I sure didn't. I'm not a New Yorker but I think in the end they blame New York for all their problems when really I felt most of their problems where their own fault.
Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
Actually, it's more of a criticism of all large cities, not just New York. Remember, the main characters were small town folks, not used to the hustle and bustle of big city life.
shareBeeracuda says > Actually, it's more of a criticism of all large cities, not just New York.I think you're right but since New York is practically a character in the movie, I would be remiss not to mention it specifically. That said, whichever big city the couple was in they would likely have had the same problems. It's not so much that the cities are interchangeable as it is the couple was a idiotic and, as I said before, caused a lot of their own problems.
