I've been around IMDb for a few years and typically nothing here surprises me. I long ago learned that there are movies I adore which others trash. Conversely, movies I loathe and others love. Despite having originally seen this movie over 30 years ago, this is the first time I recall visiting this discussion board. I have to admit that I was somewhat surprised with many of the topics and opinions of the movie on the board, and spinoff topics as well.

Suffice it to say that I really like MASH and always have. Irreverent? Of course! Dated and not funny? Say what? Responsible for bad medicine? WTF???

To each their own but this is an absolutely hilarious movie which is timeless IMHO. Altman absolutely pegged this one. For those who don't see it, have you thought about watching it again?

Which is it, Doc? You start by saying you realize that everyone has different opinions, then act shocked that not everyone shares your high opinion of MASH.

Sure some of the spinoff topics are bizarre, but that's IMDb. In my opinion "dated and not funny" sums up the movie quite well.

This movie does not stand the test of time.....it is too serious at times trying to be funny for the sake of effect, and only a few jokes really are laughable today. It is not a top 100 film of all time.....it may have been good medicine at the time it was released....but just isnt that great a film.
