Watched it last night for the first time in years...

Found myself really disliking Hawkeye, Trapper, they really come across as smug a-holes. And the one person I'm supposed to dislike, Hot Lips, I felt sorry for. Maybe it's the difference between the zeitgeist of 1970 & now.

So... were you brainwashed at some point in your life and turned into this cuddly little self righteous poster boy for political correctness run grotesquely rampant? I mean - hateful and racist? Were there even any non-white characters in the movie for more than a minute tops? And the OP`s really bizarre - he`s sorry that Hotlips quit being a freaking Nazi and was helped onto a better path by Gould, Sutherland & co...?

I have a very good sense of right and wrong, thank you - which is why I find your shrill hysteria over a movie like MASH ridiculous. Maybe you should consider directing your chest-beatingly righteous wrath to some more deserving targets than a mildly sexist counter culture movie made over 40 years ago.

As for your so-called "specific criticisms", then there were none as you failed to back up your accusation of "racism" with any examples except that the fate of one Korean boy was not "explored" (if that`s what bringing it up was supposed to illustrate). Besides, even if the film were such a shamelessly racist little artifact, it still wouldn`t follow that it`s therefore "poorly made". And while it`s crass, it`s hardly "hateful" - whatever that even means. Anti-religious it ain`t really, either.

And the uptight, arrogant authoritarian as-hole Hotlips, along with her hypocritical nutcase boyfriend Frank, being the one "who has any sense of right or wrong"... yeah, I guess that speaks for itself.
