Kellerman's credit at the end

A lot of people are defending the misogyny in this movie as being part of the dehumanizing effect of war on people or that it was just a part of the characters' personalities etc. But the end where the actors' names are being said as they flash briefly on the screen belies this. They could've used any shot of Kellerman from the movie, but they specifically chose the shower scene. That was the decision of the director himself. So, I doubt that all the misogyny in this movie comes from the script.

Blah, blah, blah. It was Kellerman's most memorable scene in the movie, probably in her whole career.

Any man that likes to look at nude women should burn in Hell.....it's just not natural.

Well that and screaming to Colonel Blake why this "hospital" is an insane asylum and that he's a horrible commander.

The sexism is in the movie because it was the kind of thing that got laffs back in the day. The shower scene was played for humor and to show the protagonists taking down an authority figure, not to show any kind of dehumanization. But I think more people have a more nuanced understanding of male privilege these days, which can make the scene - and the sexual nature of the pranks against Houlihan and others - seem more like common sexual harassment than a subversion of Army authority.
