Does Col. Blake remind anybody of a Peter Sellers character?
I'm one of the folks born long after this movie was made so my introduction to MASH was reruns of the television show. Although I've seen the movie before the vision of Henry Blake was McClean Stevenson's take on the character.
Watching the movie again now on TCM, I can't help but be reminded by Robert Bowen's performance of a Peter Sellers character. Perhaps I am reminded of something like the clueless President Merkin in Dr Strangelove. Bowen didn't seem to have any other parts in movies or television that I can immediately recall, was it just his acting style? Did anybody else notice this? I think the Peter Sellers type character is too dead on to be just coincidental.
