I'm Dr. Jekyll and this is my associate Mr. Hyde.

The way Sutherland gave that line, plus the line itself, cracked me up the most in this film.

The funny line I always remember is when Hot Lips asks (rhetorically) how such an loony as Hawkeye got into the army, and the padre chimes in without a second's pause to say, "He was drafted."

I don't know why, but it absolutely cracks me up when Ugly John looks down into Painless' coffin and says, "I'll always remember you just like this."

I liked most of the P. A. announcements, especially the ones about movies (I didn't know the first time I saw it that they were all real titles), and most especially the one about When Willie Comes Marching Home.

Altman relates how the announcement about taking down pictures of naked women was a
memo from the studio to his office. So, of course it became a joke in the film.
