This movie was always awesome
It reminds me of Animal House but in the Army. The cast is great. Gould and Sutherland are excellent as buddies in this.

Donald Sutherland, of MASH.
I think the makers of Animal House wanted that "MASH connection."
But 1978 was peacetime, with Viet Nam over(but remembered), disco on the radio and a more mellow mood in America. Animal House was a much less vicious version of "MASH" because the times had changed and people didn't want the truly tough comedy of MASH (the movie) anymore.
