THANK YOU THANK YOU

I have no idea how to get to the creative minds behind this movie so I figured
I would let it out here........

Let me start by saying that this movie was always brought up when we had soup.

I also just realized where "What's the story Ritchie?" came from. My father said that for years.

I was only 5 when this movie came out, I don't remember when my parents saw it, but I do know that it is my favorite memory of them. This movie has always been mentioned. Just one of those classics, like the Godfather, that was brought up from time to time.

About fifteen years ago I tried to get this on VHS and the guy at the store told me it was unavailable. About eleven years ago I heard that Joe Bologna and Rene Taylor were going to be at a mall not far from me (They were promoting a play) so I packed up my daughter and away we went. The event was cancelled but my hope had been to ask how I could get a copy of this movie.

Monday, on a whim I checked my online video club and there it was I am THRILLED.

So thank you Joseph Balogna and Rene Taylor. You have both made me laugh through out the years. You also gave me a memory of my parents that will always be of them young and fun. My dad has passed now but when I told my mother I had gotten a copy of this movie she laughed.

Thanks!

It's really kind of a dopey comedy but I always adored it (LOVED the wedding and the funny reception scenes). My favorite romantic song of all time is "For All We Know", sung by Karen Carpenter, but performed by a man on this film. It's still very effective. I can't get any family to sit through this movie, but I always laugh out loud at Richie's parents~~~what a couple of birds! Must get the DVD; have had the VHS for many years.

I will feel the same way when the Joseph Bologna/Renee Taylor masterpiece is finally released on dvd! I wait anxiously for the day it comes out....dare I dream of extras? Commentary? Just seeing it would be enough!! I remember watching this movie with my mom growing up, every time it was on, and laughing until we cried! Thank you, indeed!
