Oliver's Father.....
Didn't seem that bad at all. Oliver is the one that seemed like a jerk. They eventually accepted Jenny but Oliver was just to stubborn to forgive him and move on.

You're right, Oliver was stubborn and rude, but I'm guessing he felt his father deserved it.
I can relate. My dad isn't a bad guy, but he wasn't a good father, and for reasons related to that, I'd rather punch him than talk to him (more often than not). I understand Oliver' anger and frustration toward his father. At least his dad wanted to make things right. Mine is still delusional that he did a great job.
