Kelly's Heroes, a cult classic!

I first saw this film when I was 12 and loved it. All the kids in my neighborhood had seen it and we spent time re-enacting scenes as kids did back then.

Now I see this film as a cult classic. I watched it again tonight and enjoyed it all over again.

Over time, throughout the decades, it has gained quite a following.

Anyone else consider this a cult classic?

I don't know if I'd go as far as to give it the status of "cult classic..." It's sort of straddles the fence of being a traditional WWII film with a caper element mixed-in, and all the winks and nods to the era in which it was made aren't overt enough (as they were in a film like M*A*S*H) to make it daringly irreverent. It's as if the Dirty Dozen and Ocean's 11 had a kid together and he wanted to be a hippie but was too square to be genuine.

It has Clint in it. Any and all reservations aside, it’s a cult classic. I loved it. Mea culpa: I love every Clint Eastwood movie, except for Paint Your Wagon.

It's on TV right now!
