After they make their way out of the minefield, they have to leave 2 behind. When the Germans arrive and they open fire, some of the troops charge into the minefield, didn't they know it was there?....

Watch that scene closely you can tell they shot some scenes there at a certain time of year and then must've come back for reshoots because the ground looks completely different. The mine field changes it's look a few times.
