one of the most unusual bits of editing ever
When the scene where Carlo slaps the milk out of Anna's hand and then goes to the scene where Carlo talks to Gigi the Loser in the pool hall there are three rapid cuts back and forth between the two scenes before making the actual transition. There is another unusual cut when Franco tells Carlo that Lori has been kidnapped there is a cut to the murderer slapping Lori which is apparently a flash-forward because we see the same shot happen as part of a scene a short while later.
These cuts remind me of the playful editing use as stylistic flourishes in a lot of Jean-Luc Godard film. Argento always seemed like the most art-house of the big name horror directors.
