Locations from Le Samourai?

Big fan of Melville, saw this for the first time last night, great film. I loved the shot of the pool table especially! Anyway, just wondering a lot of the locations in this film reminded me of some of those in Le Samourai, it's been a while since I saw that film so I could be wrong but were they in fact the same? The club owned by Santi and that street outside the diamond dealer's house seemed awfully familiar. I love the idea that these two movies could happen in and around the same area. Any truth to this?

I noticed that too. I'm sure Melville simply used the same locations for certain things because it was convenient.

The ally where Corey meets the fence looks like the same ally where Jef Costello brings his cars for the new license plates.

Also, Melville used the same location from the beginning scene of Le Dolous (the railroad bridge and the attic in the house) in Un Flic (same railroad bridge and they plan the train robbery in the same attic).
