What's the deal with the conversation between Rico and Santi?

Rico was not berating 'Santi' about Corey. He was actually admonishing the corrupt prison guard from the beginning of the movie.
Rico is telling the guard that if he had be warned Corey was getting out, then he would not have received that surprise visit where Corey emptied his safe.
The guard then says that if he knew there was going to be trouble then... [tails off].
At this point Rico guesses something is afoot and forces the guard to talk. We can assume that the guard tells Rico about the heist, because we next see Rico pressurising the fence not to take the diamonds.
