this movie kicks ass, bud cort is awesome...but i must say "Hope"'s masturbation scene is the most insane thing, legendary i'd say, is she using her hot dog??

Nope! Hope didn't use anything to get off on but her imagination and the presence of Brewster doing his chin ups.
Other than having a copy of this film AND seeing it on screen 4 times, I also have a paperback book about the making of the film, with the shooting script and the original screenplay in it. There's nothing in them about the hotdog being used for ANYTHING but her lunch, but she puts it down to go closer to Brewster to watch him do his chin ups before she starts undressing to masturbate on Brewster's bed.
It's a weird, but fascinating film!! And yes, Bud Cort is awesome as "Brewster McCloud"!

The hot dog IS actually used for one thing! It's used to imply (you know what), and when Hope squirts the mustard on it...that's implying something too. Otherwise, Hope doesn't use it.
Brewster McCloud is off-beat, and very typical of the unusual films of the late 60's, and early 70's! It's interesting, and Bud Cort rocked!!
