Harry Potter?
Harry Potter looks a bit like Brewester McCloud.

Yes! Bud Cort as Brewster looks like young Harry Potter. Makes me wonder if Ms. Rowling got his look from having seen this film. Also, he greatly favors the "Where's Waldo" character, too!
shareI saw the movie today, and was about to say the same thing!!!! I guess its all in the glasses;)
shareI noticed that too, particularly in the scene when Brewster is walking outside with his flying device seeing Duvall kissing the other guy... HARRY...

The "other guy" is named Bill Baldwin, Sr. He was credited as 'William Baldwin' in the film: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0049852/.

JK Rowling didn't do the illustrations for the Potter books. Mary GrandPré did. Perhaps she drew inspiration from Brewster?
shareI think Brewster's look, what with the round glass frames, was intentional, so as to bear more than a passing resemblance to an owl (keeping with some of the subtle bird themes in the movie).
I don't know if Harry Potter was intentionally meant to look like Brewster McCloud, an owl, or what have you. But yes, there is a resemblance.
(Noticed that the muscle car that Brewster and Shelley Duvall's character were in was a Plymouth 'Roadrunner,' with license plate DUV 222 - sounds like 'dove').
I noticed that in one of the "Where's Waldo?" books I have, Waldo is wearing a shirt that looks very similar to Brewster's. It is striped, and red and white.
"So I'll always know where it is."
Ok, im the only one who thinks Tobey Macguire's Peter Parker looks a bit like Brewster McCloud.
