Where was Dean Martin on 9/11?

He could have persuaded the terrorists to surender :)

You know, under the circumstances, that's really not funny. Thousands of people died on that day. I can't imagine the terror of realizing your life will end in a few moments because the plane you're on is about to be crashed into a highrise, or the horror of standing at the edge of a window 100 stories in the air and choosing to end your life by stepping off and plummeting to the distant street below rather than burn to death.

Relax it is a joke, I was there at the WTC that day unlike you so please save the lectures for another forum!

reply

I know you think it's a joke, which is why I replied. If you don't want adverse comments don't post, and I'll write where and what I please. If you consider what I wrote a "lecture" it just shows you haven't a clue about my meaning.

As to being at the WTC, how do you know where I was that day? (Of course, you don't, just more empty blather.) I'm a firefighter in suburban New York, was not on scene that day but on alert for it, and nearly lost three close friends who worked in WTC's 1, 2 and 7 and barely escaped. Their stories are horrendous and traumatized them for years. This doesn't make me anyone special but I'm not exactly disconnected from the event.

And if you really were there, more shame on you for such a tasteless "joke". We all engage in "sick" humor but some things are beyond the pale.

It is strange that someone chose a thread about a movie that was released more than thirty years before 9/11 to make a joke about 9/11. The person tried to hang the "joke" on a performer who died before 9/11. Troll or not, the poster is desperate for someone to talk to.

Alright then, do people know that Tony Perkins' widow died on 9/11? And so did a behind-the-scenes TV producer who worked with Kelsey Grammer? I'm not trying to say they were more important than any of the other thousands of casualties. Grammer expressed his shock and sorrow over the producer's death. 9/11 was a horrible day for everyone on Earth whether they realized it or not.

reply

Yes, Berry Berenson, Perkins's widow and sister of Marisa Berenson, was on board one of the Boston flights, as was David Angell, the Cheers producer you were thinking of, both going back to Los Angeles. Funny but I thought of them both when replying to the OP's second post. Terrible, and one thing not to laugh about. Not to mention the "joke" was just stupid and unfunny anyway.

I have seen many sick jokes on IM<DB over the years but the original post in this thread tops them all.

reply

I was on the 89th floor of the North Tower. If you really were there that day you would not be making jokes.

Everyone who died in the 9/11 attacks was a homicide, with the exception of the terrorists.

I don't get why people think all those people who fell to their deaths did so on purpose and by choice. You try walking around in choking black smoke and find the stairwell. They were blinded by the smoke and couldn't see where they were going. Some of them likely just couldn't see where they were going.

You're really a pathetic person,'MrsKunt'. Dean Martin's son ,Dean Paul Martin Jr, died in a plane crash. He was a pilot in the reserves- California Air National Guard. His Phantom jet fighter crashed in California's San Bernardino Mountains in 1987. Dean Martin never got over his son's death.
