Captain Harris's Children

Captain Demerest speaking to Captain Harris about being faithful to his wife when he's on a layover.
Demerest: "I guess all those kids you had helped."
Harris: Yeah, maybe.."
D: How many have you got? Six?"
H: "No, seven. Four we planned, three we didn't."
D: The ones you didn't plan...Did you ever consider doing anything about them before they were born?"
H: Naw...Let me tell ya something. I love all seven of them; but the three we didn't plan....Boy, they turned out to be something reeeeeal special."

That last line became very profound to me in 1990. I have an unplanned 25 year old daughter that is one of the most incredibly special Human Beings on this planet.
