I was watching the gang speak to Katie Couric in 2000 celebrating the 30th anniversary of the show. When Katie spoke to Shirley regarding Susan ghosting the reunions, the actress angrily stated" if it wasn't for the show, Susan would not have a career"! I understand her hurt, but felt that was harsh. Only Danny responded by clapping. I have not seen Susan's acting that much to judge, beyond LA Law and a few TV movies back in the day. However I did read Olivia Newton John was first considered for Laurie, but turned it down.
