Very under-rated episode "The Other Way Out"

I did not catch this one in the original broadcast OR the horrible botched syndication package.
Very chilling! The house, the trap and friendly Burl Ives keeps telling us "Sonnys comming...."
(Was Sonny some weird ax murderer? Was Sonny a real person at all?) That was a great touch. However the thing that really really creeped me out was-- you hear a car pull up , and Sonny was dropped off , but in my head I was like "Who was it that dropped Sonny off!?" There was something very unsettling about that. Loved this episode but I wish they would have SHOWN the murder at the beginning. That would have made it more effective.

"In every dimension , there's another YOU!"

I like it more this way with the mystery of the murder looming over the tale. I was wondering what Sonny would be like too. Sure wasn't what it ended up being!

Annoying the world since 1960!

This might be the best episode I saw so far. I enjoyed the ending, it was awesome.

Yeah, after "The Wild Wild West" Ross Martin ended up in two classic "Night Gallery" tales. The first was "Camera Obscura" where he played a character seeking revenge (and yes his wig was terrible). The second was "The Other Way Out" (one of the few stand outs in the 3rd season) where he played a character with revenge being sought against him. Kudos also to Burl Ives who was a rare actor that could play both a kindly old grandfather figure or a creepy, evil villain and you'd buy it either way. I love the painting for this segment too.
