A great movie worth seeing!
Hopefully television will show it again soon. The performances are outstanding especially Ms. Page's. And what an ironic ending.

shareIt's available on Region 1 DVD from MGM. I purchased my copy for a mere five bucks at a local Barnes & Noble bookstore.
"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"
Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. Ms. Page's performance is not to be missed. The ironic ending, however, may not be necessarily original to Ursula Curtiss's novel, the Forbidden Garden, on which the film is based. Agatha Christie wrote a short story, featuring Miss Jane Marple, titled, "Strange Jest" which is found originally in the 1950 text, Three Blind Mice and Other Stories. Since then, one can find the same title in various anthologies of Miss Marple stories. If you are interested, it is worth reading and a good connection to the ironic ending you mentioned. The folks behind the film, Charade, may have also borrowed from the same Christie plot as well.
